CraobhEo 2019 Annual Seminar

The 2019 Craobheo woodturning seminar will take place on 23rd February 2019 and will be held in the Gateway hotel in Swinford.

Cost €60 for day including dinner.

Demonstrators will be Liam O’Neill (Galway), and Seamus Cassidy (Meath). Woodturning & Woodworking suppliers attending on the day will be Stanley Raitt (Stranorlar), The Hut (Dublin) & Martin Lodge timber supplies (Galway).

We look forward to welcoming all our members and supporters for what will be a great weekend of woodturning and meeting up with old friends and friends we’ve yet to make.

CraobhEo 2019 Seminar Demonstrators

Liam O’Neill

Liam O’Neill is one of our leading Irish woodturners and is known worldwide. He lives and has his workshop in Spiddal, Co. Galway. He is well known for his one-off sculptures which can be see around the country and have been the subject of many public exhibitions. He works with native wood harvested from trees that have fallen and the range of turned work that produces ranges from domestic items to commissioned pieces. His work can be seen in international collections as well as close to home in his own private studio. He is also a very engaging teacher and will run arrange demonstrations by appointment from his own workshop or elsewhere.

Seamus Cassidy
Seamus Cassidy is without doubt one of Ireland’s leading professional woodturners and has
received multiple awards for his work. He is recognised internationally and is always in in
demand as a demonstrator and teacher as well as commissions of fine furniture and art.
Based in historic Newgrange in the Royal county in what is a beautiful part of the world, he
draws the inspiration he needs from his surroundings to craft his pieces. He has shown his
ability to think outside the box and combine his multiple skills to produce stunning pieces of
art. He has exhibited his work here in Ireland and internationally and is one of those artists
in the vanguard of pushing the boundaries of woodturning art worldwide.
