Sep 2016 Meeting

The September (first) meeting of the 2016/2017 year was held on Thurs. 8th September in the Craobh Eo Centre (Old Schoolhouse) in Aghamore.

This was our A.G.M.

A new system of judgeing competition pieces was adopted at the meeting. Each member in attendance to cast one vote on the piece of their choice.

A list of competition pieces was agreed for the 2016/2017 year. The objective this year is to have more practical pieces with more scope to be allowed to the woodturner. Overall prizes agreed.

Our Craobh Eo seminar for 2017 will be held on Sat. 25 February 2017 in the Gateway Hotel, Swinford with David O’Neill (Ulster), Ciaran McCarthy (South East) and Joe O’Neill (Dublin). Please keep the date in your diary.

Christmas party to go ahead again this year. Date and venue to be advised later.

Discussion on guidelines for demonstrators and session could be organised to help in this area if required.

Some discussion also on the Chapter challenge (chess set) that is in progress and needs to be ready for October.
